In the 1990s to 2000s, thousands of infant girls -- thought to be weaker, a worse investment than their brothers --- from China were exported to the US, collateral of the one child policy, and adopted by white families. Yet many of them grew up isolated from their culture, and others still were ripped from families that badly wanted them. This poem is written from their point of view.
