• Artist Statement

  This piece captures the frightening realization that our identity is subject to drastic change as we grow, and the subsequent longing for the warmth and comfort of the past. For this artwork, I experimented with acrylic paints and attempted to contrast the dull black and white portrait with the colorful yet fading childlike doodles surrounding the face, in order to create an interesting and dynamic composition.

  To me, creativity doesn't just mean originality; I believe that creativity is an artist's ability to transform their ideas into reality, all whilst overleaping artistic boundaries in order to create a piece that tells a story and inspires others.
