These pieces reflect the broader theme of identity and mark the ending of childhood in a rather universal way. I feel like the line between childhood and womanhood is a very thin one, especially when navigating other facets of one’s identity, and I wanted to somehow capture those elusive feelings and experiences. These poems touch on unhealthy dynamics, specifically between a father and his daughter, which is something I wanted to shine a light on.
