Colored pencil

  • My colored pencil artwork explores the relationships between natural disasters and human efforts to mitigate the impact of these disasters for the protection of Earth’s animals. Through the use of strong contrasting colors, I juxtapose the danger of fire and the calamity of water. I also use the motifs of animals, more specifically, birds. They symbolize how disasters can ruin nature’s harmony, but they also symbolize a more optimistic view of escaping destruction through the help of humans. By positioning the human hand in a cradling disposition under the Earth, I show how the fate of the Earth falls in humanity’s hands and how working to protect nature is a top priority. Through my work, I hope to encourage viewers to reflect on their relationship with nature and the amazing animals that rely on our help to protect them.

  • Creativity means being able to express my ideas through various forms of creative expression, such as drawing, journaling, and crafting. It also means being able to scroll on different online platforms and be inspired to try new artistic techniques and create trinkets unknown to me beforehand.
