Teenage years are so unique and difficult as you go from being a kid to an adult. This poem is about my journey through being a teenager. I wanted to emphasize certain struggle and characteristics of each year that are universal and almost unavoidable. As I am reaching adulthood and finishing school I have been reflecting on how this chapter has been for me.

For me poetry is about finding a non standardized way to reach others and express yourself at a deeper level. The way we usually communicate can only get us so far.
