All aboard the train! Next stop: outer space. Space train began with a request for a train themed piece. Of course, anything train-related needs percussion, with a notable lack of percussionists present, we used claps and stomps to emulate the racketing tracks of our train in a journey into the stars and back down to Earth. The piece starts up slowly, before picking up the pace and starting into full speed as the main melody comes in, only to break away from the solid ground of the beat as it takes off into space. As it reaches the peak of its journey, it floats for a moment... before slowly starting to move, this time the other way. As it plunges down through the atmosphere, familiar destinations from prior parts of the piece jump in, becoming increasingly frantic, until finally, as the ground grows near, the train skids to a stop.
