Submerge

Shirochka J.

Oil paint

  • Submerge is about the feeling of being held under the weight of your own thoughts. It looks at how pressure can shape identity and how silence can change the way we understand ourselves. The piece comes from moments when emotions sit just out of reach. They are not loud but they still guide how we move through the world. The work shows a search for calm in a place that feels uncertain. It reflects the effort to find clarity when the mind feels crowded. In this space, I try to understand what stays hidden and what rises when I finally stop fighting it.

  • Creativity is the place where my inner world becomes quiet enough for me to notice it. It lets me change my emotions into a tangible thing, and is a quiet place where my thoughts arise. Creativity is the space where my thoughts breathe.
