• Artist Statement

  The elements of my culture that I admired the most are the traditional dresses of my Indian heritage. The gold thread embroidery and beautiful hues of hand-woven silks made my curiosity grow. I often found myself in awe of these traditional clothes and became very interested in my ethnicity and origins. My submersion into the Indian culture began with these intricate fabrics which I really enjoy wearing to this day when celebrating Indian festivities and events with my family.
