• Artist Statement

  Sunny Moon Quartz is an expression of how serene the night could be and the comfort of being solitary as a human. I think there is something soothing about being alone; because being alone doesn’t always have to necessarily mean loneliness. In a sense, we all have to be alone at some point. It’s the only way we can truly learn independence and grow without the constant need of dependency on someone else. Keeping the open space of the ocean allows for the girl with the Rose Quartz hair (symbolizing love) to remain as the main subject. The hues of Blues and purples for the background represent the coldness the word “alone” carries, while the warm colors of the girl’s hair and shirt is the hint of tranquility that continues to keep her warm, even when there is coldness present.
