The Aisle

The Aisle is an animated short that follows a young boy’s psychological journey as he uncovers a dark secret hidden inside a grocery store. Wanting to move beyond my usual style of cute characters and wholesome storytelling, I set out to create a much darker narrative. I did this by contrasting the routine act of grocery shopping with the terror and uncertainty of being chased by a slime monster. To heighten the tension and create a sense of chaos, I combined digital animation with static photography, manipulated the visuals to produce a warped, fisheye-like effect, and used sound design to amplify the unease.

Creativity is my escape from the outside world. As a sensitive and introverted person, I often struggle to express myself verbally. So, I use art and animation to communicate the feelings, ideas, and stories that are constantly bubbling in my mind.
