The Morning Smoothie

This piece was inspired by a routine I adopted during the COVID pandemic; my friend and I would facetime every morning and make smoothies. It became a ritual that I would look forward to everyday, and even though post COVID life has become increasingly busy, I try to carry forward my tradition on mornings when I have time. This composition charcoal drawing is meant to capture the moment when the smoothie comes together. I aimed to emphasize the importance of each individual component, while showing how each ingredient comes together to form a united smoothie.

To me, creativity is the ability to generate new ideas. Often times these ideas are manifested into works of art, whether it be visual art pieces, literature, music, and more. Creativity comes from originality and meaning; the most creative pieces are thought of outside the box and with true intention.
