The Poet Tree/Cosmic Solitary

These two poems are an exploration of isolation and solitude. I purposefully wrote each piece in a very different style to explore the different ways we react to being alone. While The Poet Tree is surrounded by the life of the forest and longs for someone to understand its words and prose, the astronaut is alone and at peace. Feeling alone is something that affects everyone in different ways, whether being surrounded by company and still feeling alone, or sitting alone at peace. I enjoyed writing loneliness from two very contrasting perspectives and learned a lot about perspective and my own personal voice while writing these pieces.

Creativity is what makes life interesting. It feeds imagination and planning and science. Nothing can be created or invented without thinking outside the box. I think creativity is what makes us human, it expands the mind and is the paint on the painting of human history.
