• Artist Statement

  The landform that I choose is Pillow basalt. Pillow basalt is rock created when lava erupts through the Earth’s crust under the ocean. Magma from the mantle squeezes up through cracks in the seafloor in bubbly blobs of lava that quickly cool down, forming pillows of basalt rock. These pillows stack up on each other, creating huge formations of pillow basalt. I chose this rock because after the civil war in El Salvador there were challenges for my people and my family in El Salvador, and due to these challenges I had to move to a different country to have a safe life with my mother.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity to me means being able to create art. Art is not only being able to do paintings, art is also music, photography and creating things with your hands. You will do the best to make that work look the best as possible and express your feelings and emotions
