The Stippled Resident of Morro Bay

Acrylic Paint

  • Creating this work required lots of patience and precision. Although it took me approximately a year, the effort was worth it, and the piece continues to hold a special place in my heart. Inspired by my father’s photographs of sea others in Morro Bay, I decided they were going to be the main focus of my canvas. Slowly but surely, stippling, a dotting technique eventually brought my sea otter to life. Later, my dad and I decided to transform my art into a bookmark, breaking down an otter’s day to day diet to further educate children. Since 2017, I’ve donated over 2,000 bookmarks to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Marine Mammal Center as a way to share my creativity, while inspiring others to learn about the nature around them.

  • I do not only explore creativity in a traditional artistic way, but also in the kitchen. I find joy in utilizing my skill of precision anywhere Releasing my creativity allows me to escape reality and brings some complexity to anything I work with. I strive to always do my best.
