to forget the frost

When good things come, is it best to believe in them, or to be skeptical? This question is examined in the poem, to forget the frost. It expresses the human desire for hope, and how that hope can often be cast away as naivety. Optimism thrives in the spring; the sunny and sweet parts of our existence. But when we’ve felt the darkness of winter before, can we maintain our trust in the sun?
