Two Dancers

Ellen A.

Acrylic Paint and Unstretched Canvas

  • My piece depicts two young ballerina girls. These two girls are my friend and I. We used to love to dance together in when we lived in Sweden. This painting has a nostalgic and melancholy feeling. I used a green underpainting to emphasize the contrast in the skin, tying into the green ribbon, the only other green in the painting. In addition I expiremented with unstretched canvas with allowed for more flexibility and control.

  • Creativity to me is the creation of something that you are passionate about and love, putting a lot of thought and character into it.
