• Artist Statement

  My photography piece, Unseen, demonstrates the tension between what we show the world and what we keep hidden. The subject’s face is partially covered by her hands and the division of light across her face adds a contrasting touch. The split colors reflect the inner duality we all carry, it's a mix of strength and vulnerability. The surrounding darkness emphasizes this moment of light in darkness creating the Unseen effect of my subject. It captured a feeling of being overwhelmed yet still calm, even when not seen. This piece causes viewers to look beyond the surface and consider the emotions that often go unspoken. Unseen is a reminder that even in shadow, there is depth, identity, and meaning.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity is the ability to see beyond what’s immediately visible, it's transforming simple images into layered stories with deeper meaning. Creativity is discovering emotion, intention, and truth hidden beneath the surface, and letting art speak in ways words sometimes can’t. Creativity is also experimenting and growing outside your comfort zone.
