It seems widely agreed upon that being emotional is on the same level as believing in unicorns. It’s too irrational, disconnected from reality, too childish, winded, and lengthy. But that metaphysical space between mind and language, I’d like to go there for a while. I’d take to chalk to the streets and write for miles until my knees bled. I wonder what’d happen if we could hang out there together. This piece was inspired by a series of unabbreviated, unpolished written works of mine exploring irrational and unproductive questions, feelings, and visions. I urge viewers to consider the things they’ve felt but didn’t say, or expressed but condensed. Might we connect with one another better if we condensed ourselves less?

To me, the first half of creativity means slowing down and paying close attention to the world around you and within you. The second half is about truthful expression and communication. So together, I believe art has an unmatched power to connect people at the most personal levels.
