• Artist Statement

  My film “We Belong” expresses the fear of many children of immigrant parents of their families being torn apart. The film shows how a Hispanic child can have a normal life, but there is always the fear of their life changing someday knocking at the door. With many difficult things going on with immigration, many children are scared of not seeing their parents someday, even if their life seems normal. The title changing from “I belong” to “We Belong” begins referring to my belonging and ends referring to the belonging of Hispanics in society.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity means expressing a feeling or telling a story in a way that is more effective to an individual. Personally, I believe that feelings and stories can be better u durations through art. Being creative allows a person to express themselves in an effective way.
