• Artist Statement

  While working on this self-portrait, I attempted to capture the complex look held in my features, a mixture of being aware in the moment yet also lost in thought. I chose the unrealistic yet vibrant skin and feature colorings to give the viewer visual insight to the often hidden internal emotional state of the subject, provoking more thought as to what really lies behind my gaze.

• Creative Statement

  To me, creativity is the ability to express any idea, whether it be new or old, in a way completely of your own. It is how you share a piece of yourself with the world, something meant to be seen from your own perspective, leaving others the clues to interpret.
