Revelation grew out of a slow, hands-on process that started with making my own tools through OakGall Inc. I spent hours experimenting with different marks, textures, and colors on all kinds of paper, and those tests became the raw material for the final piece. The artwork is 46 inches wide and 42 inches high, and I built it in stages: the mountain first, then the figures, then the sky. Since this biblical moment doesn’t have a single image everyone agrees on, I let myself imagine what it could look like and what “revelation” means to me. As someone who is dyslexic, working with physical materials helps me connect to stories in a way text doesn’t, so this piece felt personal from the start. I also wanted it open to interpretation, and I like that people see different things in it. That flexibility feels right for the idea of revelation.

To me, creativity is the freedom to explore and the courage to take risks. It’s a fluid process where I let ideas change and evolve. When I’m creating, I’m open, curious, and willing to push past whatever feels safe or predictable.
