where the moon goes at daybreak

Jandro C.

  • This piece is part of my concept score for my science-fiction novel idea I've developed for a year. In this particular scene I've scored, one character asks why the moon---the staple of their race's religion and where their ancestors reside---leaves at daybreak, to which another character replies that it never really leaves---it's always there, watching over them and guiding them even while unseen. I created this piece during a time where I felt overwhelmed with change---one of my relatives had passed away, and as my freshman year of high school flew by, I felt like time was moving too quickly for me. However, as I wrote my story, I realized that one of its messages taught me how to keep going. Even if the place where the moon goes at daybreak is hidden, it'll always find its place once again in the sky, guiding those who wander in the night.

  • To me, creativity is one of the most important parts of the human experience. We all want to express ourselves, and the only way we can do that is through creativity.
