Billie Eilish is an artist whose emotions bleed out of her songs through her soft voice and lyrics. While her life was very different from mine, her lyrics still manage to touch me, which speaks to her ability to turn her experiences into means for art and connection. Wildflower is about the internal struggle to choose between loyalty and personal feelings, and about the guilt of breaking unspoken rules about love. Being one who likes to use music as a way to express emotions, I tried to put myself in Billie Eilish’s shoes while singing this song.

Creativity to me means taking what I already feel and experience and finding different ways to convey that feeling or experience to others. Through my work, I want others to feel my emotions and be able to relate it to theirs, and hopefully feel seen and comforted through that.
