• Artist Statement

  This piece grew out of a deeply vulnerable moment. It blends a traditional choreographic approach—letting the music guide movement that feels honest and resonant—with the spontaneity of refined improvisation. In many ways, it serves as a final hurrah for Mia and I. After five years of creating together, our senior year marks the close of this chapter in our dance journey and the beginning of the next.

  Creativity, to me, is the freedom to follow my inner voice, listening to ideas even when they feel silly or unconventional. It’s never individualistic—but draws on the support, inspiration, and shared energy of others. Creativity grows through connection, where fellow artists and movers help my own imagination take shape.
