• Artist Statement

  This peice is the internal conflict of growing up dancing cultural traditional dances and the contradiction that I feel when I try to train technically in ballet. The overall essence of Haitian dance more specifically Yanvalu is very powerful and dominant and ballet can be very uniform and delicate. ( this is a video of a practice run, the official performance is not available yet).

• Creative Statement

  It’s my ability to express and show how I feel when I’m unable to put it into words. it’s how I can remain present when things get overwhelming. I love that I started to embrace my creativity because I stopped being scared to to be proud of myself and art.
