Anima Partem is built around the idea that finding your own belonging is a deeply individual journey that is exciting, anticipatory, and thoughtful all at once. The music carefully follows a story-like arc, identifying an individual by establishing a woodwind theme that evolves from curious to resolute throughout the piece. It then culminates in a grand fanfare before concluding with a final piano motif that leaves the audience with a sense of completion. Anima Partem was also inspired by personal experiences where I searched for my own internal belonging, and fresh emotions from those moments helped shape the piece authentically.
