Given the harsh, unforgiving, exploitative nature of the systems under which we live, one finds oneself having lost the wonder and colorfulness once known to them in youth. Eventually, one's fuller spectrum of emotion, personality, and thought is flattened in order to better fit into the life that power has chosen for us. It is only in certain brief, special moments that we are reminded of the beauty that has now become a stranger to us. That is what this piece seeks to capture.
