This piece reflects the darkest time I’ve experienced. This year, everything fell apart—stress, depression, and breakups all stacking. Amid the chaos, my dog became my light. Every night, she slept beside me, grounding me when nothing else could. In this painting, I kneel before a statue of my dog holding a lantern—a symbol of the light she gave me when I couldn’t find my own. The lantern represents comfort, guidance, and hope, illuminating the space around her even as darkness overtook below. The crowd of red orbs painted with different emojis, represents the flood of stress, anger, heartbreak, and confusion that filled my mind. The statue conveys the reverenceI felt in her presence—as if she were something holy/eternal I could turn to when everything else felt temporary. This piece expresses quiet ways love can save you, even when it comes from a creature who can’t speak.

To me, creativity is taking thoughts, feelings, and experiences and turning them into something you can see or feel.Through my art, I explore emotions, tell stories, and hope to open a small window into my perspective for anyone who experiences it.
