This song started when my friend described a dream to me. A dream with a train, and a lake called Happiness Drank. With some time this song has evolved to be one of my favorite pieces. It focuses on cryptic lyrics that lead the listener through a story while still maintaining the fluidity and mystique of a dream. Happiness Drank explores the dread that surrounds the concept of an eternal afterlife. The bare bones of the song is made up of steady guitar and vocals with highlights of cello. I also used shakers, reverb, and distorted vocals to build tension and immerse the listener into the story.
