Holyland

Holyland explores my journey toward self-discovery and inner peace. Though I’m not religious, the title represents the sense of safety I’ve learned to find amid life’s chaos. During difficult moments, my choreography naturally became more expressive. As I reached, paused, and stretched through space to reflect the emotions I was working through, I had to accept the imperfections that surfaced in the process, opening space for honesty and vulnerability. Throughout the piece, I often look upward, as if toward the sky, imagining the future ahead of me. Each moment of doubt and clarity added depth to Holyland, shaping it into a personal narrative of self-acceptance and growth. The work reflects on my past while also capturing my hopes for what’s next, highlighting resilience and the importance of embracing one’s own path. For me, dance is more than a passion; it’s a place to process, imagine, and move forward.

Creativity to me, is what allows me to express myself using my own personal experiences and learned knowledge. It’s how I’m able to come to conclusions, think ‘outside the box’, and overall make connections between different aspects of my life.
