Mom, What’s for Dinner?

  • Having found inspiration in the effects of the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster on Japan’s fishing economy, I created my work with hopes to highlight how some of its impacts relate to the bigger prevalence of deteriorating food quality and pollution in the present day. An increase of poor quality meat, eggs, and gluten in America’s food industry not only impacts the health of communities, but can also cause food sensitivities that can make putting food on the table more difficult. Plaguing dinner tables across the country, the dangers of food pollution become more apparent.

  • I think that creativity is to be able to harness ideas around you to bring forth something new. Every piece of art is not independent in its creation; it is a product of an artist’s interpretation of the works and ideas that came before them.
