My Father Reading

While my initial goal was simply to create a figure drawing at home, the process shifted into something much more personal. It became less about practice and more about finding a quiet way to connect with my father. My cat, who is a constant presence at his side, naturally became a prominent figure in the drawing, sitting by father. I felt it only natural to include these two in one portrait, and yes, my cat truly does look that scary in person. This piece was made with a lot of color to bring more life to the piece and in the end it became not just a figure drawing, it's a record of how the relationship between my and my father grew through the creation of this piece.

I think now, it's important for artists to posses creativity. Creativity doesn't have to mean producing the most "outside of the box" piece. It means having a vision of your own, knowing how to bring it to life, and being willing to tweak, adapt, and change it along the way.
