• Artist Statement

  A car is on a high-speed journey when suddenly magnificent mountains come into view. The vibrant pinks and oranges of the rocks create a dreamlike quality, and loose brushstrokes around the road convey the excitement of the experience. The sun begins to set, and the viewer appreciates the last few moments of daylight as they notice the sun’s golden rays shining on the leaves of the trees, and blending radiantly with the blue sky. While painting this scene, I was inspired by my childhood road trips with family.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity is a skill that I practice and improve upon everyday, whether I am coming up with a word pun or improvising on a group project when my classmates are absent. I view creativity as the ability to imagine and consider many possibilities instead of restricting myself to perceived boundaries.
