While creating this painting, I was reflecting on my past not-so-fun experiences with scoliosis, and the many surgeries it took to stretch and straighten my spine once again. At this point in time, it’s been almost three years since it concluded, and now I don’t really think about it anymore. But that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, or that I’m ignoring it, I am just more at peace with it now. The reason I created this painting, of a pink background, a spine, ribs, and a heart, is that it’s a message of sorts. One about acknowledging the past, reflecting upon it, and moving forward, hopefully leaving behind a positive light.

Creativity is precious, it's a way of viewing the world, it's a way to better express yourself, a way of communication. Whether it be bright colors or a pot of flowers, there's a message behind it.
