Shower Thoughts is a flowing, nostalgic song about someone fully enveloping your thoughts as if they were a massive, bottomless ocean. The song was meant to capture the feeling of being lost in thought, specifically under the warm, familiar flow of a shower. The lyrics “I’m thinking I should turn it [the faucet] off, but part of me would like to stay here awhile” are a metaphor for knowing you should cut things off with someone before one of you gets hurt (or burned by the hot water), but not quite being able to because of the comfort of being loved and seen (or of being warm and calm). I wanted the song to sound “underwater” … to make listeners feel like they’re floating. All vocals and guitar are original, and in rough draft form.

Creativity is freedom. Creativity has no rules, no walls…it is the way emotion flows into expression. Creativity is one’s way of showing the world inside, sometimes without even speaking a word. Without creativity the world would be a sad, desolate place…but with it present, as it flourishes…the colors are beautiful.
