Silent Suffering

Aditi R.

I created this piece using graphite pencils, focusing on shading and blending techniques. The work emphasizes smooth transitions and detailed texture using these materials.

  • “Silent Suffering,” a monochromatic drawing, reflects the fear and anxiety imposed by society’s oppressive forces. A threatening man silences a crying girl by forcefully covering her mouth, symbolizing the suppression of voice, emotion, and truth. The snake pendant around his neck, a traditional symbol of fear, intensifies the sense of danger and dominant control over the girl. Through stark contrasts and emotional realism, the piece captures the quiet agony of being unheard.

  • Creativity, to me, is a language for emotions that words can’t hold. It translates memory and truth into something others can feel. Through my art, I capture emotions that live in silence and turn them into connections between people. Creativity isn’t just expression; it’s the bridge between emotion and empathy.
