“Soft Ground” is a creative writing piece that uses a drifting narrator to explore the feeling of moving through life without fully settling. Although the imagery of leaves, open hands, and shifting light may suggest personal experience, the song is not autobiographical. Its themes come from my interest in how people imagine change, uncertainty, and the search for a gentler place to land. The narrator walks, listens, and observes as a way to stay connected to themselves, even when the world feels unsteady. I wanted to capture the quiet emotions that can appear in moments of transition and the small hope found in noticing something new at the edge of night and morning. “Soft Ground” reflects my curiosity about how we create meaning in motion, not any direct experience from my own life.

Creativity is the process of turning observation into expression. For me, it means shaping small moments, emotions, or questions into language that feels alive. It is less about personal experience and more about imagining possibilities, exploring tone, and giving form to thoughts that might otherwise stay unspoken.
