• Artist Statement

  This word demonstrates the gap in how people often carry thoughts and feelings that they do not show. The face looks steady but the second layer reveals how someone can hold fear, doubt and pressure on the inside, while remaining calm on the outside. It demonstrates the fact that often times people often hide or suppress their true feelings, out of fear of being judged. This image asks its viewer to look past what people show on the outside, and understand what someone might be feeling on the inside.

• Creative Statement

  For me it means doing things that are original to you. It means taking ideas that you have and creating something with them. For me it also means perseverance and confidence, knowing that every attempt may not be a success, rather a learning moment.
