The Exoverse

"The Exoverse" is a piece written for vocal septet, orchestra, and electronics. While I was writing this piece, I was inspired by the idea of an intergalactic society–one that simultaneously revolved around humanity and technology. Because of this, I blended both acoustic and electronic sounds, creating a sonic space indicative of this unique society. The piece uses complex motivic writing, and the auditory texture is richly produced by blending MIDI orchestral instruments with electronic patches. I sang, recorded, and processed all vocal lines throughout the piece. Additionally, after writing the piece, I engineered the track; I recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered its various stems until I was satisfied with the auditory space.

Creativity is everything to me. It is my catharsis, my source of expression, my greatest comfort, and my force for good. I owe every part of myself to creativity, and feel most myself when I'm engulfed creative endeavors.
