In the painting there are five of my characters: the central one (Echo) shaped like an angel and painted in holy light. This contrasts with her dark expression and colors, creating an interesting dynamic. I was inspired by paintings from the Baroque period, with moody colors to evoke emotion. I wanted to explore Echo's character; how she is viewed, and how she actually behaves.

Creativity, to me, is a way to explore myself and others. Creating stories and worlds in my head has always been a way to learn about myself, and to explore real, sometimes serious topics, in a safe fictional format.
