The Ski Queen

This artwork is inspired by Eileen Gu (谷爱凌), a champion skier representing China, whom I admire for her intelligence, perseverance, and dedication. I used watercolor and colored pencils to bring the piece to life. First, I painted the background with watercolor to create snowy mountains and trees, giving a soft and atmospheric effect. Then I added details with colored pencils, including her skiing figure and colorful sparkles, to make the image vibrant and dynamic. I also included the Chinese flag to honor her achievements for China. My goal was to capture both her strength and the inspiration she brings to others. Creating this piece allowed me to experiment with layering watercolor and colored pencils, and I enjoyed seeing the textures and colors come together. I hope viewers feel her energy and determination through my artwork.

Creativity is the key for expressing my own inner feelings and talent in a certain way. It means finding new ways to experience and share stories. To me, it's making the thoughts in my mind visible through different art materials, such as creating a drawing, a design, or a project.
