• Artist Statement

  My artwork shows three women intersecting, crossing paths while strolling through Chinatown. Each of these individuals knows nothing about one another, simply crossing paths while going about their everyday lives. All of them caught up in their own lives paying no to very little attention to their surroundings, despite all looking in the same direction. As I captured this image I was picturing the concept of sonder, which is the realization that "every random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own, complete with their own stories, ambitions, and routines" - John Koenig. These women will most likely never cross paths again, showing the complex originality that each individual holds.

• Creative Statement

  Creativity means finding an outlet that allows you to express yourself freely. Photography has been this creative outlet for me, allowing me to take photos of the world surrounding me through my own lens.
