This triple overlapping self-portrait uses the colors that make phone screens light up: red, green, and blue(RGB). These phone screen colors show how we, especially teenagers, can selectively represent ourselves to become different people on social media. I overlapped the colors to achieve two affects. Firstly, new colors are created in the overlap based on additive instead of the more common subtractive color theory. This shows how colors, a fundamental aspect of human life, are vastly different on screen than in real life. Secondly, I included the overlapping to allude to the tiktok logo, an app that has proliferated the desire that teens have to be online. I chose the particular images in order of what I would post online: the leftmost reference I feel is flattering, while the middle and right increasingly represent more candid expressions that I would feel self conscious to post.

Creativity is vulnerability. I push myself to have such a lack of self consciousness about anything other than bettering my own skills, that I am willing to be wrong in order to learn. When I'm creative, I persevere to express my ideas despite trial and error.
