Collage using magazines

• Artist Statement

  I created this piece from several black and white magazines. The photograph of the boy walking atop the stone wall is on his way to work in a coal mine. I assembled this collage with that in mind. The text is behind him, purposely separating him from an open sky which to me, felt like a symbolic reference to the freedoms of a child. Freedoms, of which the boy does not have.
