I think the stories of male victims of sexual abuse are so rarely talked about and I feel as though it’s something that should be acknowledged more often.

My artwork is is based off of a picture I took of my backyard, the way the moon shone really captivated me and I felt I had to paint it.

Since I discovered the treasure trove of baby pictures in my family’s Amazon Photos account a couple years ago, I’ve been obsessed with watching old videos and looking at old photos, just to get a glimpse of who I used to be at 10, or 5, or 2 years old.

In this piece I wanted to depict what a nights can be like as a student--hours spent studying late, having little to no time to invest in creativity or letting oneself simply imagine.

When I created this, I aimed for something bold, powerful, and beautiful.
