The Blues Can Sneak Up on You
“The Blues Can Sneak Up on You” began as a rhythmic experiment: I wanted to shift between a funky, even-eighths feel (in the ‘A’ section) and a buoyant, swing feel (in the ‘B’ section).
Weight of the World
I wrote this song about the whole mess going on in the United States right now.
I Wish She Loved Me Like That
I initially started writing this song as a more general sappy yearning love song, it was only during the process of writing the lyrics that I realized I kept thinking of and writing about a friend of mine and her relationship.
As Long As I'm Yours
In a world that constantly bombards us with the desire for more—more achievement, recognition, distractions—I wrote “As Long As I’m Yours” as a reminder that all we truly need is love.
Summer break
This was a project that I worked on from my desk at home over the summer before my junior year.
Second Drip
This piece is inspired by the works of Imogen Heap, and is a fast paced, groovy song that is bass and drum heavy.
Sage my Body and Clear my Dark Mind
Sage my Body and Clear my Dark mind is a spoken word song I created on garageband using guitar and vocals to evoke deep emotion from my poetry.
Ballad of Found Time
This piece takes inspiration from the sounds of Duke Ellington and other big band masters, but also from Jazz-Pop artists.
Citrus Skyline
I wanted to push myself and try something new with my music, aiming for a more energetic and upbeat sound.
Blue Reflection
This is a cut version of the full work, which is around 6 and a half minutes.
