This project was inspired by Lucian Freud and Cristina Troufa, and the way they paint skin with unusual colors, texture, and form.

This piece is an existing piece by John Coltrane entitled “Moment’s Notice” where I play the memory and interpret the solo and improvise over the tune on my own.

The frogs on the skin represents imperfection because they symbolizes something messy, discomfort and disorder, but the boy in the picture doesn’t wash off his mess/ imperfection and instead accepts it.

I have been lucky to experience the beach and ocean throughout my life living in the Bay Area sailing in and around its waters.

This piece is a self-portrait being gently comforted by three glowing hands.

Dating back centuries, women have been idealized through art, but through that process they are removed of the very thing that makes them who they are; they are removed of their autonomy, their faults, their humanity.

The little girl pictured in the artwork is me.

I created this as a method of expressing my own thoughts about individualism in a society inherently based upon tradition and meritocracy, and seeing ourselves through this lens.

This was my first still life.

I chose to paint a photo that I took in Oregon, where I admired the beauty of a hilly landscape around me. I realized that the beauty was made up of thousands of imperfections that worked together to create one vast countryside, composed of small deformities collaborating to become a remarkable scenery.

In this study, I examined how light is affected by a restricting object like a mesh. In order to emphasize the light, I used white conte on black paper.

This work is inspired by drama series’ like The X Files, that consist of a main duo who work as partners.

This painting represents the social injustice women lived in during the past.

”Just Maybe” is a depiction of what could be if someone could step out of their comfort zone.

In a world shaped by conflict and snap judgments, this work redirects the viewer's attention to what truly matters: the earth and the younger generation.

While painting this piece I felt like I wanted to tap a bit into the concept of darkness and it's contrast to light.
