Claude Debussy was an Impressionist and this piece exemplifies that style, characterized by whimsical melodies passed between instruments.

If life had to be a musical work, mine would be an impressionistic one, like Debussy’s Reflets dans l’eau. Debussy “broke” the standard compositional rules to portray flowing water.

Written by the Brazilian composer Villa Lobos, El Canto de la Cisne Negro (Song of the Black Swan), is a lesser know but still important contribution to the Classical Canon.
